Otia has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. It never asks your name, your email, your age or your weight, and it has no way to reach your contacts, your photos, your location or your health records.

What stays on your phone

Your finished sessions, your statistics and your sound settings are stored on the phone itself. They are not uploaded, and they are not part of any account.

Because there is no account, this history does not move to a new phone. If you delete the app or change devices, it is gone. We would rather say that plainly here than have you discover it on the day you switch.

Your subscription is the exception. It belongs to your Apple Account rather than to the app, so it follows you to a new phone even though your history does not. Use Restore Purchases to bring it back.

What the app sends

Otia records how the app itself is used, so that the parts that confuse people can be found and fixed. Each installation gets a random identifier — a string of digits with no meaning outside this app — and the records carry that identifier and nothing else that could point back to you.

What is recorded:

• Which screens are opened, and in what order
• What was chosen on the setup screen — the sport, the length, the equipment, and whether you said your muscles were sore
• Whether a session was finished or left early, and at which step
• Which exercises were swapped, skipped or replayed
• Sound and music levels, and other settings you change
• Errors the app runs into

What is never sent

This list is the part worth reading twice, because it is unusual and it is enforced in the code rather than promised in prose:

• Anything you type — the app does not send it.
• Your name, your email address, or any way to contact you
• Your location, at any accuracy
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA, IDFV). There is no advertising and no advertising software in the app.
• Screen recordings, taps as coordinates, heat maps
• Any device fingerprint beyond the phone's clock

How to switch it off

Open Settings in the app and turn off usage data. Nothing more is sent from that moment, and the random identifier for your installation is deleted. If you switch it back on later, a new identifier is created — the old one cannot be recovered, so the two cannot be joined up.

Paying for Otia

We never see your payment details. Apple takes the payment, and your card, your billing address and your Apple Account are Apple's to hold — the app has no access to any of them and could not read them if it tried.

What the app does receive is whether a subscription is currently active. To check that, and to keep it working when you reinstall or change phones, the purchase receipt Apple issues is verified through RevenueCat, which stores the receipt and a random identifier for your installation. That identifier is not your name and not your email, because the app has never asked for either.

This is separate from the usage data above and cannot be switched off, because without it the app cannot tell whether you have paid.

Where the records are kept

Records are stored in a Postgres database hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union) and kept for 36 months, after which they are deleted. They are used to improve the app and are not sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you. The only outside parties involved are the ones named on this page: the database host above, and the purchase verifier under Paying for Otia. Both act on our instructions and neither is allowed to use the data for anything of its own.

Children

Otia is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Changes that affect what the app records will also be described in the app's release notes.
