Before you stretch

This app builds stretching programmes for flexibility and range of motion. It is not a substitute for someone who knows your body — if you have a health condition or pain that does not settle, see a professional. Stop any stretch that gives you sharp pain.

Questions people ask

Why is the programme different every time?

Because it is built for the answers you just gave, not picked from a shelf. The sport, the minutes you have, the equipment around you and whether you are sore all change which stretches are chosen and how long each one is held. Give the same answers twice and you will get a very similar programme; change one and it moves.

Where is my data, and can I move it to a new phone?

Your sessions and statistics live on the phone. There is no account, so they do not move to a new phone and they go when the app does. The full picture is on the privacy page.

I do not want a stretch that came up. Can I change it?

Yes. On the preview screen, before the session starts, any exercise can be swapped for another that works the same area.

How do I make it quieter, or silent?

Settings has separate levels for the voice, the chime and the music, so any one of them can be turned down or off on its own without silencing the rest.

My muscles are sore. Should I still stretch?

Tell the app — it asks. When you say you are sore, deep positions are dropped and the remaining stretches are held more gently. If a stretch is sharp rather than tight, stop it.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. Programmes are built on the phone and nothing is fetched while you stretch, so a basement or a plane makes no difference.

How do I stop the app recording how I use it?

Settings, then turn off usage data. It stops immediately and the identifier for your installation is deleted.
